OT for Older Adults

Occupational therapists play a key role in providing services to older adults in the community to live at home longer. We understand that well-being comes from addressing both mind and body, which is why we offer comprehensive support to help older adults.

Mental Health Support

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Life transitions and adjustment

  • Social isolation

  • Memory and cognitive changes

  • Grief and loss

  • Daily routines and structure

  • Stress management

  • Sleep difficulties

Physical Independence

  • Home safety assessments

  • Equipment recommendations

  • Minor home modifications

  • Mobility aid advice

  • Fall prevention strategies

  • Bathroom safety solutions

Our process involves:

  1. Initial consultation - having an in-depth initial consultation in your home (to conduct a comprehensive assessment based on your needs)

  2. Care Plan - developing a personalised care plan to outline the supports and services you require, collaborating with your Home Care Package manager or family to ensure that our plan aligns with your goals and funding

  3. Implementation of supports - This can include intervention to work towards your goals, trialling and sourcing assistive technology and equipment, ongoing appointments if needed.

We support clients with Home Care Packages, White and Gold Card Veterans, Medicare (Mental Health Care Plans and Chronic Disease Management Plans), Private Health funds or privately paying clients.
