Ellen Kang
Occupational Therapist
Ellen is a mental health occupational therapist who grew up in Boorloo/Perth. She has experience working in youth and adult mental health in Perth, Melbourne, London, and rural Queensland.
Ellen provides a collaborative approach tailored to each client’s preferences and learning styles. She focuses on assisting people to build their internal resources - such as emotion regulation, tolerance of distress/uncertainty, self-compassion and executive functioning support – and their social connections (family, friends, community, and other services as needed).

Ellen has an integrative clinical style, incorporating Occupational Therapy frameworks with aspects of Compassion-Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Ellen often uses psychoeducation resources based on people’s lived experience of mental health challenges and is interested in nature and culture/ancestry as resources for personal growth and support.
Ellen enjoys working with people from a wide range of life experiences and is passionate about supporting neuro-divergent adults and young people from marginalised backgrounds.
In her spare time Ellen enjoys live music, craft and attempting to grow edible plants.
Ellen works from the clinic at 316 Fitzgerald Street on Tuesdays. She accepts referrals for the following:
· Mental Health Care Plan
· Chronic Disease Management Plan
